The Bradley Center is a 30 year old building with the original lighting system. Due to tight budgets, EPL had to make this work and get a great ROI or it would not be approved. There were many different types of spaces and rooms that were not on the original blueprints.
Energy Performance Lighting (EPL) retrofitted fixtures with high output lamps and energy efficient ballasts. We reduced the number of lamps in the facility by 50% and met all ANSI light level standards. EPL prepared and submitted grant applications for the Wisconsin Focus on Energy program and received a $35,000 grant. The project came in on-budget with a 38% ROI and a 2.6 year payback. All spaces were retrofitted, even the ones we found during installation! Maintenance costs were dramatically reduced and simplified by minimizing the different types of lamps and ballasts and using all long life products.
