Energy Performance Lighting Selected by the City of Port Washington as Approved Energy Efficient Lighting Contractor for Stimulus Project.

Energy Performance Lighting announced today it has been named an approved energy efficient lighting contractor for the City of Port Washington.  This selection is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) funds for energy efficiency programs. The grant the City of Port Washington received will cover 75% of the cost of the project with other funds coming from Focus on Energy.

Stimulus Funds for energy efficiency are starting to flow into the economy, which is a good sign for Energy Performance Lighting and an even better sign for commercial building owners, managers and tenants.

“Businesses that upgrade their lighting can significantly reduce their monthly energy consumption, which will help lower monthly operating expenses,” said Rodney Heller, Managing Partner at Energy Performance Lighting.

When the project is complete the City of Port Washington will be saving the environment by decreasing their carbon footprint by 737,623 pounds of CO2, 4,060 pounds of SO2, 1,897 pounds of NOx and their energy consumption will be cut by 53.5%.”You have a choice between energy conservation and energy generation.  “Dollar for Dollar energy conservation is the most cost effective method to reduce your energy bill.” said Heller.  Port Washington will save approximately $33,200.00 per year in energy costs.
